Disconnection Issue - Wrongfully Penalized?

howdy folks,

Last game my computer decided to die i guess and my screen and music (via spotify) stopped and all i heard was a high buzzing noise, so i restarted my computer and joined back (we won). i then had an hour long ban for all gamemodes, which i think was because i had to leave before one game started, giving me a 3-minute inability to queue. soooo, it went from 3 minutes to an hour? is that right? and should i have been unable to queue even though i joined back? one of the few other games i play is overwatch which grants you the ability to join back in competitive games and removes penalties after you rejoin, in fear of penalizing people for coincidental disconnections. is there anything that a dev or something can say about this? just confused.

Unfortunately ValorantForums.com is not the official forums (Sad I know!). However I'll do my best to answer your question to what little knowledge I have 😃

The hour long ban, I assume you either got because of leaving just at the before the game had started or when the game was loading in after you had selected your agent.
Riot want a fair game (and a fair fight supposedly! TY OP Agents!!!) however when players leave, intentionally or not it makes it unfair for everyone else. Thus the reason (Riots reasoning, not mine!) for the 1hr long ban. Whilst I agree that 1hr is probably too long, it's ultimately up to riot to reduce (Or extend 😢) the timer.
Personally I would say they will reduce the timer, as your not the person reaching out.
