My friend's account is actually hardstuck

So my friend has been playing valorant for some time now, he can't promote from iron 1.
For weeks now he's been grinding competitive and only gains rating without promoting.

Patch 1.14 was supposed to make it easier to climb out of the lower ranks, but it seems to have no effect on his account
He got 3 match mvp games in a row, 1 of which had bronze players, yet he still failed to promote to iron 2
I personally don't know much about the competitive system but considering I've promoted twice from good games before, 3 match mvp's should at least land him iron 3 or even bronze.

Actually they did improve it, on an account I climbed from low iron to top bronze within a day. You just need to keep a good win/loss game ratio and if you keep losing then put the game down a bit before getting tilted take a break and get back to it again. Also the matchmaker here like in many other games screwing with you sometimes. When I have these "losing rows" I usually the no1 player on the team and getting put together with bad teammates/afkers/leavers. It is the matchmakers way to say FU for you for winning too much. I'm not here to encourage smurfing and all my accounts are on the same level but when you feel this is happening to you just switch account and it's like starting with a clean sheet.
